Financial crisis made investors more wary

Stocks suffered a steep loss after news of Merrill Lynch & Co.<br /><br />Inc was selling itself to Bank of America Corp and the financial firm Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc. filed for Chapter 11.The financial crisis caused investors to run en masse from anything risky, and many still won't buy stocks.

The lesson learned: Don't ignore risk
