Consumers have more confidence in the American economy than they have had since the collapse of Lehman Brothers in September.

Trust will increase propotional to time

I believe that the consumer trust will increase by the time, and as the economy start to stabilize once again and rise on it's feet.
I believe that the consumer trust will increase with a slow rate until it hits a point where it boosts or falls, according to the actions of the economy.
