(American Meteorological Society) The American Meteorological Society's 89th Annual Meeting will be held Jan. 10-15, 2009, at the Phoenix Convention Center in Phoenix.

More than 2,500 of the world's leading atmospheric scientists will gather to discuss a broad range of weather and climate-related issues.

The 2009 Annual Meeting is being organized around the broad theme of "Urban Weather and Climate: Now and the Future."
