StreetInsider.com Notable Analyst Rating Changes: UPGRADES: Baird upgrades Syntax-Brillian (Nasdaq: BRLC) from Neutral to Outperform, citing Compal deal and cost cuttting measures recently announced.

Price target $3. Deutsche Bank upgrades National City (NYSE: NCC) from Sell to Buy with a $9 price target, saying with the stock down 84% over the last 12 months it trades at a large discount to its franchise value even after assuming that almost all of the new $7 billion of capital will be used for new loans.

Syntax-Brillian (Nasdaq: BRLC) 41% LOWER; issued a filing to the SEC in which the Company announced it has amended its credit agreements with certain lenders to establish a floor of 15.5% for interest rates on base rate loans.

The changes also require the Company to make more than $8 million in payments and possibly accept a loss of operational autonomy.

OpenTV Corp. (Nasdaq: OPTV) 31% HIGHER; reports Q4 EPS of $0.08, 9 cents better than the analyst estimate of ($0.01).
