Google created a huge stir on Tuesday when it announced that it will no longer filter (AKA censor) results from its google.cn site.

The reason, basically, is that it is putting its foot down after recent attacks on its infrastructure. These attacks, it believes, originated from China and were targeted at gaining access to the Gmail accounts of Chinese human rights activists.

President Barack Obama is telling Chinese students that unrestricted Internet access in the United States is a source of strength and an open exchange of information makes all countries stronger.
