PORT ORANGE - When the Port Orange-based law firm of Rue & Ziffra recently celebrated its 30th year in business, the founders and staff also observed something else: 30 years of giving.

Throughout the years, the firm has sponsored everything from charity balls, motorcycle runs and Bike Week events and given monetary donations to organizations like schools, civic clubs and children's homes, to name only a few.

During 2011, the firm contributed more than $171,000 on events that benefit residents in many Volusia and Flagler county communities.

PORT ORANGE - Three partners in the Port Orange-based law firm of Rue & Ziffra recently were "arrested" and placed under lock and key until they could raise enough charity bail money for their release.

Longtime partners in the personal injury firm - Allan Ziffra, David Sweat and Luis Gracia - were arrested and taken into custody by the firm's "charity police" Thursday afternoon according to Ziffra, a founding partner in the firm.


 

Port Orange Personal-Injury Law Firm Donates 100 Bicycle Helmets...

PORT ORANGE - The Port Orange-based law firm of Rue & Ziffra recently donated 100 bicycle helmets to the Port Orange Police Department for the agency's free helmet program.

The helmets - which are available on a first-come, first-serve basis - are free to children under the age of 16.

Florida law states that children under age 16 must wear an approved helmet when riding a bicycle.
