Commission of Indian Affairs is demanding that the hosts and producer of a local morning radio show be fired for what the agency termed 'racially charged comments' made on the air.

Tribune Broadcasting’s Randy Michaels lured another radio-management star over to the Chicago-based company: Sean Compton, 34, departed Clear Channel Communications this week to become senior vice president of programming and entertainment for the 23-station group.

Lee and Bain Capital Partners, and the banks failed to resolve differences over the terms of the financing.

Clearwire Corporation (Nasdaq: CLWR) 16% HIGHER; Sprint and Clearwire are higher this AM on reports the two largest cable companies, Comcast and Time Warner Cable, are in talks to provide funding for the new WiMax venture from the two.

Jabil Circuit, Inc. (NYSE: JBL) 13.3% LOWER; reports Q2 EPS of $0.20, 2 cents better than the analyst estimate of $0.18.

Revenues for the quarter were $3.1 billion, versus the consensus of $3.04 billion.


 

Clear Channel Completes Sale to Providence Equity Partners

Clear Channel Communications said it completed the sale of its television group to Newport Television, a holding company for Providence Equity Partners for $1.1 billion.

The agreement for 56 TV stations is about $200 million less than the terms of the original agreement reached last April.
