Stock Futures Rise Ahead of Big Day for Data

NEW YORK -- U.S. stock futures were rising Thursday ahead of what economist expect to be positive data on jobs, consumer sentiment and economic growth in the U.S.

Slight Uptick in U.S. Economic Confidence in Early August

Princeton, New Jersey (PRESS RELEASE – August 12, 2010) – Gallup’s Economic Confidence Index improved slightly in early August to -29 — holding the improved perceptions of late July — and is now four points better than the average for all of July (-33).

The trend suggests Friday’s Consumer Sentiment report is likely to show modest improvement as well.
