Consumers who live in the District of Columbia have more economic confidence than residents of any other part of the country, according to a new Gallup poll.

Princeton, New Jersey (PRESS RELEASE – August 12, 2010) – Gallup’s Economic Confidence Index improved slightly in early August to -29 — holding the improved perceptions of late July — and is now four points better than the average for all of July (-33).

The trend suggests Friday’s Consumer Sentiment report is likely to show modest improvement as well.
