Is Apple really 'closing the gap' on Android as far as smartphone market share is concerned, or is there more to the battle of the mobile handsets than the latest set of headline figures suggest?

Earlier today, Amazon announced pretty significant numbers that illustrate the rising popularity of e-books. For the first time in their short history, they are outselling their hardcover brethren at the bookstore giant.

For the second quarter of 2010, Amazon sold an impressive 143 e-books for every 100 hardcover copies.

Change that number to 180 for the last month alone. Overall, total e-book sales increased three-fold over last years sales during the first two quarters.

First let's get something out of the way - I love the iPad. Every other blogger has shared their opinion so for me it's the eReader that does about ten times as much for only 150 per cent of the price.

It's also the first games platform that's going to be able to cope with board games properly.

OK, so Apple has done it again. Whipped the technology and consumer media up into a feeding frenzy that is.

But has it delivered with the truly magical and revolutionary product that was promised? Er, no dude, not by a long shot and here (in no particular order) are 15 reasons why the iPad is not a game-changer.
