Motorola Mobility (NYSE: MMI) 56.2% HIGHER; announced Google (Nasdaq: GOOG) will acquire the company in a $12.5 billion deal.

China XD Plastics Company Limited (NASDAQ: CXDC) 39.8% HIGHER; reported Q2 EPS of $0.30, $0.05 better than the analyst estimate of $0.25.

Revenue for the quarter came in at $88.2 million versus the consensus estimate of $78.8 million. Also announced a $100 million equity investment by Morgan Stanley Private Equity Asia.

UPGRADES Piper Jaffray upgraded JDS Uniphase (Nasdaq: JDSU) to Overweight, while the firm raised its price target on the stock from $13 to $17.

UBS upgrades Nike (NYSE: NKE) from Neutral to Buy, price target raised from $84 to $100. Barclays upgraded NetApp (Nasdaq: NTAP) from Equal Weight to Overweight, with a price target boosted from $56 to $67.

The minutes from the last Fed meeting, released on Tuesday of this week, discussed why that accommodation may be 'appropriate before long'.

Facebook Investor Rules Out 2011 IPO

Would-be Facebook investors will have to wait a while before the company has a ticker symbol like GOOG, MSFT, and YHOO.  Peter Thiel (re)confirmed this afternoon that Facebook won't go public until 2012 at the earliest.

Bloomberg reported the same thing in July, meaning this isn't exactly breaking news, but there is a difference between three anonymous sources and Thiel.  Thiel's about as close to Facebook as anyone other than Mark Zuckerberg can get.
