Speaking to the owner of a older iPhone this weekend, we were unsurprised to hear she was going to dump her iPhone for the iPhone 4.

What's more interesting, however, is the surge in trade-ins noted by Gazelle, a consumer trade-in service. The company said trade-in traffic for older iPhones has jumped over 700% compared year-over-year with 2009.
