A cool, new interactive map shows how some states gained ground in the fight against poverty, only to backtrack in recent years.

Employees working in metro areas scattered along the coasts tended to get paid better last year than their middle-America counterparts. See an interactive map.

On September 28, the Census Bureau released 2009 state- and county-level poverty data from the American Community Survey.

The Half in Ten campaign created the map below which displays the data by congressional district.

Brightly coloured, easy-to-read maps incorporate all the businesses listed on Yell.com.

It means that people can now search Yell.com’s two million local businesses directly from a map and get directions to and from them – all at the same time.

September saw a decline in the median sales price to $174,900 for a single family home, the number of homes sold each month has been steadily increasing.
