Need advice on my career path

DaniWeb IT Discussion Community - IT Careers and Business  Mon, 08/02/2010 - 15:29

I have been a software engineer in a company for 2.5 years working with VC++ and C#. I always want to do my own business but don't know where to start...

For the last year I have been doing the project Xmart Calculator SNIP on my own during my spare time.

It cost me about 3k pounds and there is no income up till now. I am afraid this is not a good project...

My next plan is either applying for a higher pay job or try to do some iphone apps.

Both have advantages and disadvantages I really don't now which should I choose.

I tend to stick to the free ones, and not long ago I went and downloaded a bunch of new freebies. These are my favorites from that bunch:

Apple bans BitTorrent and your own personal Jesus

DaniWeb IT Discussion Community (Featured Entries)  Mon, 05/11/2009 - 17:06

You really couldn't make this up if your tried very hard indeed. The ongoing saga which is best summed up as 'what will Apple ban today' has just got stranger than ever.

Apparently all BitTorrent iPhone apps are toxic, as is the notion of superimposing your own face upon that of Jesus, not to mention a Twitter application that was refused a place in the app store because Twitter was down for maintenance when the Apple people tested it.

The BitTorrent ban is an odd one. Although BitTorrent applications per se are not illegal, and the protocol itself is put to perfectly legal use by many...
