job offer

Got a job offer as a Software Engineer. Is this a good offer?

DaniWeb IT Discussion Community - IT Careers and Business  Tue, 10/20/2009 - 23:32

I just got a job offer from a major software development company. It’s a software engineering position and pays 80k/yr.

Is this a competitive salary? I have no idea how to go about determining what I’m worth based on my qualifications.

I’ve looked at sites like glassdoor and payscale, but they just provide “average” salaries, which isn’t as useful as one might like.

I just graduated with my Master’s degree in Computer Science and have a couple of internships under my belt.

Usually, when you apply for a job you have to allow the company to do a credit check. I remember it used to be that they wouldn't do a credit check until they had interviewed you and were preparing to give you a job offer.
