Everybody likes free music but nobody likes to be sued. For people seeking free music online, therein lies the rub.

The RIAA's tactic of filing John Doe lawsuits against alleged copyright infringers was dealt a blow by a New Mexican judge, according to Ars Technica:

The Associated Press is filing lawsuits against bloggers for quoting and/or linking to AP articles online.

In short, the Associated Press doesn't want bloggers to link to them, quote them, look at them or even breathe in their general direction.
