Inflation Moves Zimbabwe to Drop Ten Zeros from Banknotes

Just last week Zimbabwe released $100 billion notes in an attempt to fight inflation. But the new banknote on the day it hit the street wasn't enough to buy a loaf of bread.

Today, reports say it will take $200 billion to buy that loaf, and $600 billion to buy a can of Coke.

Amid Zimbabwe's mind-boggling hyper inflation, a new 100 billion dollar bank note has more value as a novelty item on eBay than on the streets of the capital.

The note, launched this week, is worth enough to buy a loaf of bread - if you can find one on Zimbabwe's depleted store shelves.

Meanwhile on eBay, the bill was on offer for nearly US$80.
