Washington, DC (PRESS RELEASE – June 3, 2010) – SCORE “Counselors to America’s Small Business” salutes the men and women of the U.S.

Armed Forces. Volunteer SCORE counselors offer free business mentoring and resources to veterans, members of the National Guard and Reservists who are starting or growing a small business.

Many SCORE volunteers are veterans who donate their time to mentor veterans and other entrepreneurs in their hometowns.

Armed Forces. Business mentors with SCORE are proud to support the success of entrepreneurs in the military community.

Many SCORE volunteers are Vietnam, Korea and WWII veterans. Twelve percent of SCORE clients are veterans, with one percent service-disabled.


 

Military Reservist Working Capital Loan Program Expanded

WASHINGTON (October 29, 2008) - Legislative changes will make a U.S. Small Business Administration loan program more accessible to small businesses facing financial loss when the owner or essential employee is called to active military duty by extending the application period, increasing the unsecured loan threshold, and raising the maximum loan limit.

Changes to the Military Reservist Economic Injury Disaster Loan (MREIDL) program became effective October 28.
