Magma Design (Nasdaq: LAVA) 27% HIGHER; Synopsys (Nasdaq: SNPS) to acquire Magma for $7.35/share in cash Scorpio Tankers Inc.

(NYSE: STNG) 13.8% LOWER; announced today that it intends to offer and sell 7,000,000 shares of its common stock in an underwritten public offering.

The purpose of the offering is to enable the Company to fund the acquisition of two 52,000 dwt newbuilding tankers that it is currently negotiating to have constructed at Hyundai Mipo Dockyard Co.

  • SPDR S&P 500 (NYSE: SPY) up 2.38 percent to $127.26. Markets rebounding on EU deal today.

    Following long negotiations, leaders agreed on a deal to reduce Greece's debt and expand capacity of the EFSF. The S&P 500 is up about 2.3 percent, while the Dow Jones and Nasdaq are about 2 percent better.
  • United States Oil (NYSE: USO) up 2.34 percent to $35.88.

    Crude higher as GDP daa today shows that the economy grew more than anticipated. According to data Thursday, GDP in the U.S.

  • United States Natural Gas (NYSE: UNG) up 1.33 percent to $10.27. Nat gas futures are pushing higher today, bolstered by expectations for hotter weather in the Midwest and Northeast, as scorching temps are still expected in Texas and southern parts of the U.S. next week.

    Nat gas futures are trading $0.066 better to $4.060 on the Comex today.
  • iPath S&P 500 VIX Short-Term Futures ETN (NYSE: VXX) up 8.64 percent to $33.96.

    U.S. markets are tumbling again today, sending the volatility index higher once again.

  • United States Oil (NYSE: USO) up 1.20 percent to $38.86. Crude trading higher today as Greece may enter a potential aid package, helping to to curb borrowing costs and allow for further intervention with Greece and other European states.

    The news may mean a rebound in Europe, and is certainly a welcome announcement for U.S. markets. Also, the euro is seeing some upside becuase of the news, making crude contracts cheaper.

    Crude is $1.18 higher to $99.58 per barrel on the Comex.
