The deal with Spyker, a Dutch maker of sports cars, would bring Saab back from the brink of extinction.

The struggle over control of Porsche, the heavily leveraged maker of world-class sports cars including the 911, appears to be coming to an end, according to media reports.

Sweden's Koenigsegg, maker of some of the world's fastest and most expensive sports cars, has struck a deal to buy loss-making Saab Automobile from General Motors, the companies said on Tuesday.
