US dollar lower in Europe

The U.S. dollar was mostly lower against other major currencies in European trading Tuesday morning. Gold fell.

The euro traded at $1.5564, up from $1.5499 late Monday in New York.

Other dollar rates:

_107.86 Japanese yen, up from 107.84

_1.0395 Swiss francs, down from 1.0464

_1.0153 Canadian dollars, down from 1.0164

The British pound was quoted at $1.9658, up from $1.9599.

Gold traded in London at $ 888.50 per troy ounce, down from $905.25 late Monday.


 

US dollar mixed in Europe

The U.S. dollar was narrowly mixed Monday against other major currencies in European trading. Trading was subdued, however, as U.S. financial markets were closed for the Memorial Day holiday.

The euro slipped to $1.5772 from $1.5775 it bought late Friday in New York.

Other dollar rates compared with late Friday in New York included: 103.44 Japanese yen, down from 104.17; 1.0243 Swiss francs, up from 1.0238, and 0.9894 Canadian dollars, up from 0.9849.

The British pound was quoted at $1.9821, up from $1.9794.

The U.S. dollar was mostly lower against other major currencies in European trading Friday morning. Gold rose.

The euro traded at $1.5470, up from $1.5404 late Thursday in New York.

Other dollar rates:

_102.91 Japanese yen, down from 104.17

_1.0419 Swiss francs, down from 1.0523

_1.0084 Canadian dollars, down from 1.0176

The British pound was quoted at $1.9532, down from $1.9535.

Gold fell.

The euro traded at $1.5516, down from $1.5642 late Wednesday in New York.
