SBE Council Praises House Passage of Withholding Tax Repeal

Washington, D.C. (Press Release – October 27, 2011) – The Small Business & Entrepreneurship Council (SBE Council) cheered U.S.

House passage of H.R. 674, legislation to repeal the onerous and costly 3 percent withholding tax on government contractors.

Earlier this week, the White House issued a statement of administration policy in support of repealing this nonsensical mandate.

President Bush Signs Housing Legislation

Washington, D.C. (August 1, 2008) - President Bush has signed into law a mammoth piece of housing legislation that includes assistance for homeowners facing foreclosure, a one-time tax credit of up to $7,500 for first-time buyers and a plan to aid struggling federal mortgage giants, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

Unfortunately, the bill includes a new tax regulation provision that is opposed by the National Association for the Self-Employed (NASE).
