Clear Channel Completes Sale to Providence Equity Partners

Clear Channel Communications said it completed the sale of its television group to Newport Television, a holding company for Providence Equity Partners for $1.1 billion.

The agreement for 56 TV stations is about $200 million less than the terms of the original agreement reached last April.

Hulu Going Live Wednesday, Adds Content Partners

Hulu, the broadband-video site developed by NBC Universal and News Corp., will open to the general public Wednesday.

Hulu had been a in a private beta since October and a semi-private beta since last month. In addition, Hulu announced deals to bring content from Warner Bros.

Television Group, Lionsgate, the NBA and the NHL to the service.
